what is blockade heat protectant serum?
formerly called blockade heat defense serum, blockade heat protectant serum is a glossy serum that shields against damage caused by heat styling. use it to protect against heat up to 450°F* as well as reduce frizz + add shine. formulated with our signature sea buckthorn, it's ideal for all hair types but especially great for medium to thick hair.
before heat styling, apply 1–3 pumps to damp or dry hair. use blockade before blowouts, heat tools + as a final touch for a glossy finish.
is amika blockade discontinued?
not anymore! our stylist community is extra protective of their clients. when they told us they missed using blockade for its heavy-duty heat defense + glossy finish, we listened. now, we’re bringing the pro-trusted heat protectant serum back to their stations + your shelves.
is it the same formula?
the formula has undergone some minor updates for optimization, but don’t worry: you’ll find the same 450°F heat protection,* frizz control + shine you loved + missed in the original.
