after the rush of the thanksgiving holiday and busyblack friday shopping,a day we hold dear is finally here... giving tuesday!supporting organizations we believe in has been etched into our DNA since day 1, and it’s an incredible way to put our mission of cultivating a world where all humans are welcome into real action. even better, it gives you an opportunity to give back and support organizations that are positively impacting lives and paving the way for a better future. andlet’s be honest: if you were planning on shopping anyway, how good does it feel to know the proceeds of your purchase are going directly to causes that are creating positive change?! we’re here for that—on giving tuesday and every day—and so is our founder, Chelsea. we tapped her to share what she’s most excited about this giving tuesday:

friend to hair stylist scholarship program
we’re showing up for causes in both the US and Canada this year. In the US, we’redonating to an impact program we have supported for many years, the amika x Beauty Changes Lives Friend to Hair Stylist Scholarship Program. in partnership with Beauty Changes Lives, an organization that helps make beauty and wellness positions a first-choice profession, our Friend to Hairstylist scholarship allows us to invest in the next-generation of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ hair stylists. The goal?increase equity and diversity in salons and chairs all across the country.so far, we’ve donated $160,000 to date—and we’re just getting started!
look good feel better
In Canada, 20% of donations will go to Look Good Feel Better, an organization that provides well-being programs (like a self-care day!), community events, and practical support to those facing cancer. their programming is invaluable and provides proven health benefits like increased confidence and easing the psychosocial burden that comes along with a battle like cancer. their complimentary workshops, which include experiences like hair alternative workshops and skincare and makeup classes give people the opportunity to feel their best and connect with others going through a similar situation. We are thrilled to support such an amazing cause and can’t wait to see how our giving tuesday donations play a role in their success!
